Empty first, clean second
This is the single thing that most affects the result. A move-out cleaning on a home that still holds furniture and boxes cannot reach the surfaces that matter most: the backs of closets, the floors under furniture, the insides of cabinets.
If the property cannot be fully emptied before the visit, say so when requesting the quote. It changes what is realistic, and it is much better known in advance than discovered at the door.
Confirm the utilities are still on
Cleaning needs running water, hot water, electricity, and working lights. Utilities are often cancelled effective the moving date, and the cleaning ends up scheduled for the day after.
Check the shutoff date before scheduling. It is a small detail that stops a visit entirely when it is missed.
Know what your lease or contract requires
Landlords, property managers, and closing agreements often list specific requirements: inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, blinds, garage floors, interior windows. Those lists vary, and they are the standard your cleaning will be judged against.
Share the list when you request the quote. Working from the actual requirement is far more reliable than working from a general idea of clean.

Leave time between the move and the cleaning
Scheduling the cleaning for the same day the truck leaves rarely works. Moving runs late, and a cleaning that starts three hours behind either runs into the night or gets cut short.
A day of margin between the two removes most of that pressure and gives the visit the time it actually needs.
